Each year, I connect with the undergraduate admissions team to gain insight into the recruitment cycle and what marketing materials can best assist them in yielding new students.

Do you have my major?

One question that the admissions counselors always hear from high school students is “Do you have my major?” While Moravian University offers more than 70 areas of study, most are considered tracks or concentrations, rather than majors. This isn’t the easiest concept to explain to prospective students and can often lead to confusion about the university’s offerings. Whether or not Moravian has their major can make or break a student’s decision to enroll, so it is imperative to communicate the areas of study thoroughly.

The Concept

I proposed the concept of a guide to academics to the admissions team and received their buy-in almost immediately. Working with an admissions liaison, academic advising specialist, and faculty across the university, I drafted copy for a new Areas of Study webpage and a printed Academics Guide. These materials were critical tools during fall recruitment, which included high school visits and college fairs.

Tailored to undecided students, who make up a majority of our prospect pool, the academics guide provides direction and support.
