Logo Design / Bucketlist Blueprint

My best friend Julie and I love to travel. Individually, we’ve been all over the globe—Scotland, Australia, South Africa, Iceland, and more. Together, we took an unforgettable trip to Arizona a few years back. And if it wasn’t for the COVID-19 pandemic, we would have added Switzerland and Germany to our list in 2020.

So when Julie, video editor extraordinaire, decided to start her own YouTube channel focused on travel itineraries and tips, I knew I could help with the branding. We started by brainstorming some names—Bucketlist Blueprint was the crowd favorite. From there, I put together some logo sketches and a color palette.

The final logo takes inspiration from Julie’s favorite place to travel—the beach. She requested oranges and blues for the color palette and sent some photos from the beach and Arizona as inspiration. She didn’t want to include any sort of “blueprint” imagery, but was otherwise open to my creative interpretation!

Final Logo

I provided Julie with my final illustrator files and she was able to animate the design elements into her videos. She even created her an animated version of the logo for her video intro!

This was such a fun project to work on. It’s always a blast to work with my friends because I can draw on inspiration from our past experiences, as well as the project at hand.
